Abilities:
While Tohru doesn't have much in terms of super natural abilities, it can be noted that she is a very good cleaner and cook. Pretty much like your average housewife type cleaner and cook due to the fact Tohru did have to become very independent at a young age, taking care of the home, doing all the shopping and things for both her and her mother and then just herself. Pretty much after that she does it so that the Sohma house doesn't end up a mess.
Strengths:
Tohru is as mentioned great with the house work and does it better than anyone she lives with, this is why she is the designated cleaner and cook of that house hold, because the others can't do it and or just get fast food instead.
Weaknesses:
Because she is kind she can be taken advantage of in certain cases.

When you first see Tohru, you see just how kind and caring she can be. She always smiles and someone commented once that she is the type that would never see a glass half empty, even though in her life bad stuff has happened such as the death of her parents at different points in her life. Tohru always sees the more optimistic view of things and always somehow sees the positive in things, but with that she will have her moments when she can get sad, for example when someone gets hurt that she cares about, or if she believes that she might break a promise that she made with her mother like when she got one red mark of midterms. She got so depressed about it and thought of herself as a failure because of it. Although people were quick to point out it was only one red mark didn't get her spirits up right away.
If she fails, she blames herself and feels bad because people helped her and she believes she let them down. It's understanable considering that she works hard for a good portion of the time so that she doesn't have to rely on people so much. That is another part of Tohru that you see. She does work hard, really hard and she does try her best to not be a bother to people. For example when her grandfather had to get his house renovated, he asked Tohru if she had a place to stay with friends. While she did say yes, we see that in fact she ended up staying in a tent, simple because she doesn't want to be a bother to her friends considering thier own circumstances such as a big family or the fact they live alone.
The girl can also at times be a little 'spacey' or another word for it is day dreaming or something along those lines, so people or more so boys in her school have once commented that she could be easy and you could get her to do anything. While this is true and she can be a tiny bit of a push over, most of the time she seems rather happy to do it. But this can be a downside considering she's nice, but can be a little too nice to people that it could be taken advantage of. If someone is nice to Tohru and treats her to something, she always makes sure that somehow she would be able to pay them back in one way or another, so this consides with her nice personality. As with her being a nice girl she can also be forgiving, very forgiving depending. Not once has she been seen holding a grudge against anyone during canon.
Because of a vow Tohru made when her mother died, Tohru keeps her as the most important person in her life. So, if she were to devleop feelings for someone, which she does in later canon, she will feel guilty because it's pretty much like breaking that vow. So during her canon point she is keeping that vow close to her heart and is a girl who will try and do her best to keep what she promised, even if she is in a new situation. But because of this is makes development a lot harder, in a case of she wouldn't never fully let someone into her life. She always makes sure that people don't worry about her and that pretty much does make them worry if they think something is wrong, this could be to keep there friendship at a certain level, or the fact that Tohru doesn't think very highly of herself to want to bother her friends.

[Tohru looked nervous as she glanced at her new surrounding. This town looked nothing like she was use to and she doesn't remember how she got here... except of course for the feel of darkness as she blacked out. But apart from that it was confusing.]
I-I don't mean to be rude, but... [She had already been given her device and munny by the moogle and after the shock of a talking stuff bear of some kind, Tohru still did not understand what was going on.] I'm still not sure what these teddy bears are talking about?
[She gripped the device lightly. he darkness took her world is what they said, but Tohru didn't understand what that meant. Where her friends okay, what about the curse she wanted to break, was it all for nothing? With her eyes glancing down, her face was one of sadness.[
What of my friends? Kyo-kun, Yuki-kun a-and the others. Are they here as well? [She held the device close to her chest, in hope that they too were okay and that they would find her soon.]
RP Sample:
Tohru had arrived at Destiny Island for two days ago and had started to attend the school. She was going to go through with that promise that she would finish high school and while here, it was close enough to being one. So in her mind she only had to do two years here and she would have done it, she would have managed to finish school and she hoped to make her mother proud of her. She had a small smile upon her face as she got changed into the new school uniform, thinking about if her mother was watching her from heaven, like father must be.
Upon getting the tie sorted, Tohru grabbed her back and left her room at the dorm in order to start walking to class. With the sun rising high, she looked up at the sky. It was as clear as day and that kept her spirits up. At least for now anyway, she hadn't a clue as to what she was going to learn and had no help in learning any of it. She knew that she might have a bit of trouble with the classes, but she didn't want to bother anyone with the help that would be considered a good idea for her. No. Instead she knew what she was going to do, she was going to attempt to do the work by herself, or at least try at first.
With that in mind, her eyes soon graced over the school, a new school a new day. She was kind of nervous, unsure of what this school might bring. She might just be another girl, one with little to no sound. That quiet girl in the class who just sits there with a daydream look upon her face. She figured that would be likely, but for today she was the center as when she got to class, she had to introduce herself.
Stepp through the door, into the classroom, Tohru looked at the class and she bowed slightly.
"It's nice to meet you all. I'm Tohru Honda." And with those words, it was the start of her new classes.
